In a career spanning 17 years, Valentina (Val) Borbone has come a long way from her first 12 month role as receptionist at H-W Computer Services.

Following her front desk stint, Val worked through the ranks at Pearl & Dean Advertising, from the outdoor division PosterAds through to National Film Programmer across Greater Union & Village cinemas.

Taking a 2 year “discovery” break from advertising and enjoying the legal services profession in England, Val returned to Australia in 2000 joining then Legion Interactive (now Be.Interactive) as an Account Executive. Over her 6½ years, Val climbed the Account Management ladder to become Media Manager of a 10-strong team, overseeing interactive communications campaigns for a portfolio of Australia’s largest media organisations including Network Ten, Seven Network, FOXTEL, ACP, Pacific Magazines, FPC Magazines, Time Inc, Fairfax, mcm Entertainment, Austereo and Endemol Southern Star.

Val joined Profero in January 2007 in the role of Media Director and was responsible for managing her media team in developing the overall communications strategy, media planning & buying through to implementation & execution for clients such as Apple, GraysOnline, McAfee, National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse & Neglect (NAPCAN), Inspire Foundation, Sci Fi Channel, National Geographic Channel and TV1 to name a few.

After 6 months maternity leave, Val returned to Profero as General Manager, a much needed role as the business requirements changed with the growth from 8 to 30 employees.

Exceedingly motivated, personable and dedicated, Val has a vast amount of experience in the media, marketing and legal industries. Val’s achievements have been far reaching and influential.

In addition to her many roles, Val is an experienced Privacy & Spam Officer, previously holding a position on the ADMA  (Australian Direct Marketing Association) committee to write the e-marketing Code of Practice and The Premium Rate Services Code of Practice as well as lecturing for the ADMA Digital Certificate & Short Course. Val continues to be actively involved in ADMA together with other industry bodies.

Val’s exceptional aptitude for team management, client management and legal and regulatory affairs have earned her accolades and the respect she commands.
