Mike has over 13 years experience in the interactive marketing industry, in both digital integration and management roles with traditional agencies such as Batey Ads in Singapore, Brann in London, FCB and as Managing Partner of Euro RSCG Interaction in Sydney, as well as leading a digital pureplay agency during his 3 years as MD of Profero Australia.
Mike’s key area of expertise is strategy with a focus on delivering deep consumer understanding and business strategy. This provides clients with a comprehensive way of engaging with their digital consumers, and a platform for best utilisation of their online budgets.
Mike has worked across almost all industry sectors on blue chips brands, including Intel, IBM and Apple in technology, Macquarie Bank, HSBC and Suncorp in Finance, Mitsubishi,Volvo and NRMA in Automotive, Astra Zeneca, TENA, and Medtronic in Healthcare, EA Games, Universal Music and Apple in entertainment and Pizza Hut, Gatorade, Nike and Burger King in FMCG, amongst others.
His participation in award winning projects has been extensive, from a CD ROM that won an Asian Advertising Award in 1997 through to involvement in 2 winners for Dialogue in 2006’s Revolution Effectiveness awards in the UK. Most recently Profero were 2009 finalists in the IAB Awards, received a Webby Honoree and a finalist in AWARD and was a winner in the 2010 AIMIA Awards for Social Media.
Mike is extremely active in both the creative and digital communities in Australia:- he founded the Australian version of Creative Social, a gathering of creative directors focused around improving digital creativity in Australia. He also established, and is Chair of Judges for Creative Showcase, the IAB’s regular digital creative award. He has co-chaired the judging panel for the IAB Awards in Australia for the last 2 years and has judged the AIMIA, ADMA and AWARD awards as well.
He oversees and lectures ADMA’s (Australian Direct Marketing Association) digital marketing courses, both developing course materials and delivering courses, including the Digital Strategy course. Mike also regularly speaks at events such as Ad:tech and ADMA Forum.
